Pull the pages you need into a new PDF

Often you only need a slice of a document. A signed page from a contract, the two pages of a report your manager asked about, or a single chapter from a scanned book. Extracting copies exactly those pages into a new file, so you can share what matters without sending the whole thing.

Your original PDF stays as it was. The tool reads it, picks out the pages you listed and writes a fresh, smaller document. Nothing is removed from the source, which makes extraction a low-risk way to experiment.

When extraction makes sense

• Sharing a single section. Send a colleague pages 14 to 18 of a hundred-page manual instead of the entire file.
• Keeping proof. Save the confirmation page from a booking or the summary page of a bank statement as its own record.
• Building a packet. Extract the relevant pages from several documents, then combine them with Merge PDF.
• Removing distractions. Drop cover sheets, blank separators and ad pages by extracting only the content pages.
• Preparing handouts. Pull a few slides from a long exported presentation for a meeting.

How to write page ranges

The 'Pages to extract' field accepts a compact syntax that saves time on long documents. Separate entries with commas. Use a dash for a span, like 3-9. Leave the end open, like 20-, to go all the way to the last page. Leave the start open, like -5, to begin at the first page.

Duplicates are merged and the output follows the original page order. So typing 7, 2, 2-3 gives you pages 2, 3 and 7, each appearing once. If you need a custom sequence or want the same page twice, extract first and then rearrange or duplicate pages in Organize PDF.

Privacy without the upload

Extraction happens on your own hardware. When the page loads, your browser fetches a JavaScript PDF engine, and every step after that, from reading your file to writing the new one, runs locally in memory. There is no server copy to worry about, and no retention policy to trust, because the document never leaves the device.

That also means you can keep working with a weak or absent connection once the page is open. It is a good fit for HR files, medical paperwork, legal documents and anything under a confidentiality agreement.

Honest limitations

Each file can be up to 200 MB. Very large scans use a lot of memory, so an older phone may slow down where a laptop would breeze through. The tool works on one PDF at a time, and it always creates a single output file.

Interactive extras such as bookmarks may not follow the pages into the new document. The visible page content, including text, images and annotations drawn on the page, is what extraction is built to keep.
