Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") set out the rules for using Pdfiqo at pdfiqo.com (the "Service"). They are also the terms and conditions ("regulamin") required by the Polish Act of 18 July 2002 on Providing Services by Electronic Means. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who provides the Service

The Service is provided by:

In these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Pdfiqo. "You" means any person using the Service.

2. What the Service is

Pdfiqo offers free online tools to work with PDF files, for example to merge, split, compress, convert, sign, protect and OCR documents.

  • All tools run in your web browser, on your own device. Your files are not uploaded to or stored on our servers.
  • Using the Service does not require an account.
  • The Service is currently free of charge. If we introduce paid features in the future (for example a "Pro" plan), they will be covered by separate or updated terms that we will present before you buy anything.

How we handle personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

3. Technical requirements

To use the Service you need:

  • a device with internet access to load the website;
  • an up-to-date version of a modern web browser (such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari);
  • JavaScript enabled, and WebAssembly supported by the browser;
  • enough free memory on your device for the files you process. Very large files may be slow or may not work on devices with limited memory.

Once a tool has loaded, it may keep working without an internet connection.

4. Risks of using electronic services

Using any online service carries general risks, such as malware on your device or interception of data over insecure networks. We serve the website over encrypted HTTPS, and because your files are processed locally, they are not sent over the internet by the Service. Please keep your browser, operating system and antivirus software up to date.

5. Your responsibilities

When using the Service, you agree:

  • not to provide or create unlawful content with it;
  • to follow our Acceptable Use Policy, which is part of these Terms;
  • to use the Service only with files you own or have the right to process. For example, you should only remove a password from a PDF (Unlock PDF) if you are the owner of the document or have the owner's permission;
  • to keep your own copies of important files. The tools create new files and do not change your originals, but you are responsible for checking the results before relying on them;
  • not to interfere with the Service, for example by attacking, overloading or trying to break its security.

You are solely responsible for the files you process and for how you use the results.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, texts and brand, is protected by law and belongs to us or our licensors. You may use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, resell or re-publish the Service or its content except as allowed by law or by the licenses of the open-source components it contains.

Files you process remain yours. We do not claim any rights to them, and we never receive them.

7. Availability and changes to the Service

We work to keep the Service available and working well, but we do not guarantee that it will be available at all times or free of errors. We may change, add or remove tools or features, or suspend the Service for maintenance or other reasons.

8. Warranty

The Service is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we do not give any guarantee that the Service or its results will meet your specific needs or be fit for a particular purpose. For example:

  • OCR results may contain recognition errors;
  • conversions (such as PDF to Word) may not reproduce every detail of the original layout;
  • compression results depend on the content of each file.

Please check the output before using it for important purposes. If you use the Redact PDF tool, check that all sensitive content has been removed before sharing the document.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss of data, lost profits or indirect damages resulting from using or not being able to use the Service.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where this is not permitted by law, including liability for damage caused intentionally, and nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

10. Complaints

If you have a complaint about the Service, please email us at hello@pdfiqo.com. To help us deal with it quickly, please include:

  • your contact details;
  • a description of the problem and when it happened;
  • what you would like us to do.

We will reply within 14 days of receiving your complaint, to the email address you used.

If you are a consumer, you may also use out-of-court complaint and redress procedures, for example through your local consumer protection authority. In Poland, information is available from the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK).

11. Consumer rights

If you are a consumer, these Terms do not limit the rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence in the European Union.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms for important reasons, such as changes to the law, to the Service or to how we provide it. We will publish the new version on this page with a new date at the top. Changes do not affect use of the Service that took place before they came into effect. If you do not agree with the changes, you can stop using the Service at any time.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of Poland. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you still keep the protection of the mandatory laws of that country.

Disputes will be settled by the competent common court. If you are a consumer, you may bring a claim in the courts where you live, as allowed by law.
