Choosing a layout that stays readable
Two pages per sheet works for almost any document, including dense text, since each page stays reasonably large. Four per sheet suits slides and documents with larger type. Six and nine per sheet are best for slides, image-heavy pages or overviews where reading fine print is not the goal.
The 'Margin' slider controls both the outer edge of the sheet and the spacing between pages. It ranges from zero to about 25 millimeters. A small margin gives each page more room, while a larger one leaves space for hole punching or the unprintable edge many printers have.
If your pages have wide white borders, trim them first with Crop PDF. Cropped pages scale up to fill each cell better, which makes small text noticeably easier to read. Adding a blank page with Insert blank pages can also help align content, for example to start a new section at the top of a fresh sheet.
Private layout, no uploads
The whole layout is composed in the browser tab you are using. A JavaScript PDF engine, loaded once with the page, embeds your original pages into new sheets in local memory and writes the result to your downloads. The source document is never transmitted across the internet, so there is no server copy and nothing to request deletion of later.
After the page loads you can work offline, which is handy when preparing handouts on the go. The tool is free, has no sign-up, and does not watermark your output.
Limitations
The layouts are fixed at 2, 4, 6 or 9 pages per sheet, on A4 or US Letter only. There is no booklet imposition, no cutting marks, no borders around each page, and no option to change reading order. Very long documents produce many sheets and use more memory, with files up to 200 MB accepted.

Are pages stretched to fill the space?
No. Each page is scaled to fit its cell while keeping its original proportions, then centered. Pages with a different shape than the cell leave some extra white space.
Is my document uploaded to create the layout?
No. The layout is generated in your browser, and the PDF stays on your computer or phone throughout.
Can I choose a custom sheet size or add borders?
The sheet can be A4 or US Letter, and the only spacing control is the margin slider. Frames, borders and custom paper sizes are not available.
